This is it...
In June of 2008, we applied to become fully appointed missionaries with the Assemblies of God. Ever since then we have been going through the process of.. well.. getting there!! We have been fundraising for 21 months now. And this is the deadline. We have two more weeks until our budget must be 100%. This is it! We are almost there! And I am so excited! God has been doing a miracle for us financially! And I am so excited to see what God has in store for us in these next few months. I am waiting on the Lord. And the Lord is good.

Missions
Since I am going to the mission field, i suppose it would be a good idea to post about something missions related. So I have decided to talk about my past experiences with the mission field.
I have been on two foreign mission trips. One to Ecuador in 2007 and one in the Canary Islands, Spain.. otherwise know as my future home.
My mission trip to Ecuador was one of the best experiences of my life. That is where I met Tyler Ingram. Tyler taught me almost everything I know about music and he is one of my best friends! Anyways.. Ecuador was my first experience overseas and also my first experience with missions. I don't know what my life would be like now if I hadn't taken that trip. And there was also some exciting things that happened that weren't missions related. Like going up to the yop of a mountain and jumping off a bridge into a river somewhere in the jungle. All-in-all it was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
My mission trip to the Canary Islands sparked something in my family's lives that would change our lives completely. It started out like every other year. My dad planned the trip, we raised the money, and headed out to a foreign country with the soul purpose of leading people to the Lord and spreading the gospel. But God had other plans. Sure we spread the gospel and a lot of people accepted Jesus Christ as their savior (praise the Lord!), but God spoke to my dad while we were there and called him, and my family, to be missionaries to the Canary Islands. Ever since then we have been going through the grueling, yet somewhat necessary process of going to the mission field. Part of that process is going to Springfield, Missouri for three weeks to be trained to go on the mission field. That is where I met my amazing girlfriend ,Brooklynn, who is also a missionary kid. God has a funny way of introducing people, but I'm glad He introduced me to her. She is great!
Well anyways those are the past experiences I've had with the mission field, but I'm sure I will have many more to talk about in the future.
God bless!!

Blogging
Well, folks, I haven't blogged in a while. When I created this blog I had every intention of making new blogs frequently, but I have failed to do so. Excuse the cheesy pun, but I guess you can call this a "Fail(ed) Blog". Anyways, I suppose it's just human nature to begin something and not finish it properly. Living life to fast and not taking the time to reminisce about it's joys and laugh about past troubles is, in my opinion, the main cause of not finishing the small but significant tasks at hand...for instance, blogging. So the moral of this one is a cliched saying.. Take time to stop and smell the roses every once in a while.

The Beggining
I call this blog "The Beggining" because it is my first blog. I am a missionary kid. And I intend to blog about my missionary experience. Right now we are traveling around to different churches and raising support so that we can go to Spain. Once we get to Spain we will learn Spanish. After a year of language School, we (my family and I) will go to the Canary Islands for 2 years. The Canary Islands are located off the coast of the western Sahara, but they are a colony of Spain. While we're there we will be doing missionary work. It'll be quite an adventure.
